Kajol’s late great grandmother Rattan Bai and grand mother Shobhana Samartha have been influential figures in the evolution of Hindi cinema. Her mother Tanuja is a reputed actress while her late maternal aunt, Nutan is considered to be one of the finest actresses of all times and has won five Filmfare Awards for Best Actress. Katrina Kaif is one of eight siblings, all girls, from a mother who is a Caucasian of British Nationality, and a father who was formerly from Kashmir, India, but who has since acquired British citizenship.
